Missouri is just months away from having legal, pharmaceutical grade cannabis available for sale at newly licensed cannabis dispensaries. Our new medical marijuana law allows you to legally possess, cultivate and consume cannabis for medical use.
There is no reason to wait to get certified for your official Medical Marijuana ID card. Lines and wait times will only get longer as we approach opening day for legal cannabis sales. Relief is on its way for Missouri. Be prepared.
We’ll have multiple licensed medical cannabis doctors at our Fall NORML Conference. Each doctor is ready and willing to consult with you about medical marijuana treatments. They can answer all your questions and address any concerns you have.
Under Article XIV of the Missouri Constitution, Missouri licensed physicians are fully protected to recommend cannabis treatments for any medical condition. The law allow doctors professional judgement to determine a patient’s suitability and benefit from cannabis treatment. No bureaucrat, lawmaker, public official or law enforcement official can interfere or override the decision of a licensed doctor.
Consultations with a licensed medical marijuana doctor, in which you discuss your private medical records, treatments, or conditions, is a protected conversation ensured by the Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA.
The HIPPA Act also gives patients the right to get copies of all of their medical records. This Congressional Act provides patients the right to view and request their original medical records. Your first step is to review the list of qualifying conditions and request a copy of the relevant medical records from your doctor.
Admittance to NORML’s Fall Conference is free. We survive on donations. Consider purchasing a Swag Bag filled with goodies for $10. A separate fee is required for patient certifications and your relevant medical records may be required.
