Amendment 2 Gains Widespread Approval
The endorsements keep rolling in for Amendment 2. There are so many across the state we cannot list them all here, so we've included just a sampling of the highlights:
Fans of the local Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) television program Donnybrook were presented with compelling arguments on the Thursday, October 25th show to vote yes on Amendment 2. The show’s commentators, Wendy Wiese, Bill McClellan, Alvin Reid and Ray Hartmann, were all enthusiastically in favor of Amendment 2.
The Missouri Medical Cannabis Trade Association, or MoCannTrade, has come out in support of Amendment 2 on October 23, 2018. They join the Missouri Cannabis Industry Association, the state chapter of the national organization, who has supported Amendment 2 since the initial filing with the state.
Influential newspaper editorial boards across the state have endorsed Amendment 2 including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Saint Louis American and the conservative Joplin Globe.
St. Louis' NPR show, On the Air, hosted by Don Marsh will broadcast a previously recorded live public debate about the medical marijuana initiatives on Tuesday, October 30, during the noon hour on KWMU, 90.7 FM. The fireworks exploded during this debate as Brad Bradshaw (Amendment 3) called Mike Calona (Proposition C) a liar on air. He then accused Jack Cardetti (Amendment 2) of creating a marijuana monopoly with his initiative and implied “home grow” would create illegal drug trafficking. Cardetti did a great job of slicing and dicing Amendment 3, correcting the monopoly lie, while other panelists took several pot shots at Amendment 3. Don't miss this broadcast on 90.7 FM.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas endorsed New Approach Missouri on August 22, 2018.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in St. Louis released a statement endorsing New Approach Missouri’s (NAM) Amendment 2 on Friday, September 21, 2018.
The Missouri Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) has endorsed Amendment 2. The group says “Amendment 2 is a veteran-focused initiative,” and Missouri’s veterans would “benefit from the increase in revenue to fund more veteran healthcare services through the Missouri Veterans Commission.”
