Missouri NORML Marijuana Law Reform Conference at Mizzou

(COLUMBIA, Nov. 7, 2018) Following the incredible landslide victory for Marijuana in Tuesday’s election, the Fall 2018 Missouri Cannabis Conference sponsored by Missouri NORML and Show-Me Cannabis and hosted by the MU NORML Chapter will take place this Saturday, November 10, at the MU Arts & Science Building’s Allen Auditorium.

The morning agenda will feature speakers who are leaders of the Missouri marijuana law reform movement. Speakers will include the Board and Staff of the successful Amendment 2 campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Missouri.

On Tuesday voters made Missouri the 32nd state to provide legal access to cannabis as medicine.

Dan-Viets-NORML-conferenceThe lineup of speakers include national leaders in the marijuana law reform movement featuring the former United States Attorney for the District of Kansas, Mr. Barry Grissom, J.D., as well as African-American Vanderbilt University law professor Beverly Moran, J.D., LLM, a member of NORML’s national Board of Directors.

Other featured speakers include Jeff Mizanskey, the man who served more than 22 years of a sentence of life without parole for three minor marijuana offenses, and Tom Mundell, a highly decorated Vietnam era U.S. military veteran and Commander of the Missouri Association of Veterans’ Organizations.

Mr. Kevin Mahmalji, NORML’s national Outreach Director based in Denver, Colorado, and Colorado activist, athlete, and entrepreneur, Heather DeRose will offer their professional insight with special informative presentations.

Missouri-NORML-Conference-KarinMissouri medical experts scheduled to participate include Dr. Paul Callicoat, M.D., a heart surgeon from Springfield, Missouri, and Sheila Dundon, R.N., MSPH, cancer expert, cancer survivor, and the official filer of the Amendment 2 Initiative Petition.

The NORML Marijuana Law Conference will begin at 10:00 a.m. with opening remarks by Dan Viets, J.D., president of the Amendment 2 campaign committee, a member of NORML’s national Board. and President of the NORML Foundation.

Also speaking Saturday morning will be Amendment 2 Campaign Director John Payne and on Saturday afternoon, Campaign Consultant, Jack Cardetti.
