Billboards Help Close Out NAM Campaign

New Approach Missouri's (NAM) campaign to allow the medical use of marijuana in Missouri is just hours away from completion. NAM volunteers and supporters have traveled across the state to help in collecting signatures in Districts 1 (St. Louis City) and 2 (St. Louis county and metro area). Completed petitions must be delivered on or before Sunday, May 6th.

It's vitally important to establish a safe buffer of surplus signatures, over and above the state-mandated minimums required, to ensure enough valid signatures are collected to put the question on the November 6, 2018 ballot.

GSTL NORML launches billboard campaign for New Approach MissouriDuring the last week campaign push, GSTL NORML launched another digital billboard to increase public awareness to “sign the petition”. A digital billboard was placed in a high-traffic location on Manchester Road where up to 45,993 daily travelers were exposed to our message. Your generous contributions have helped pay for this billboard campaign. We intend to continue advertising as long as our limited budget will allow. Legalization of Marijuana In St. Louis City

Legalization of marijuana under Board Bill 180 (BB180) was killed in committee as the spring Board of Alderman legislative session ended this year. President of the Board of Alderman candidate Megan Ellyia Green will re-introduce BB180, but there is a consensus that the previous outcome will remain unchanged under present Board of Alderman leadership.

GSTL NORML board members Karin Chester, Chris Chesley and Cecil King have joined with Alder Megan Green and a few of her select team members to form an exploratory committee. The goal of the committee is to determine if a ballot initiative would be successful for the November 6th general mid-term election.

Board Bill 180 legalizes cannabis in St. Louis CitySeveral key elements of the original BB180 struck down by Legislation committee members have been reinstated including employee rights to use cannabis without employer retribution outside of work hours and off the employer's premises. An expungement clause will be added to clear the records of those previously convicted of ordinance violations for marijuana possession.

The committee has concluded that the voters in St. Louis should decide at the polls if possession of up to 2.0 oz and cultivation of up to six flowering marijuana plants should be allowed in the city. Find out more at our upcoming May GSTL NORML chapter meeting on May 14, 2018.
